Pupils study a broad range of 19th–21st century fiction and non-fiction, developing close reading, inference and comparison. They plan, draft and edit for audience and purpose across narrative, descriptive and analytical writing, with accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar. Speaking and listening are strengthened through discussion, formal presentations and debate.
This year focuses on developing fluency in arithmetic, fractions, decimals and percentages, as well as building confidence with reasoning and problem-solving using real-life contexts.
Students explore biology, chemistry, and physics through hands-on experiments and critical observation, focusing on the natural world and scientific inquiry.
Developing essential digital literacy, coding basics, and understanding how technology and the internet work in a safe, educational environment.
Pupils learn to analyse historical events, understand different perspectives, and explore how the past continues to shape our modern world.
An introduction to the business world, focusing on entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, and the role of businesses in society.
This approach allows pupils to explore real-world problems through collaborative projects that integrate multiple subjects.
